What are APLIQUICK®™ tools?

Apliquick tools are two fine rods made of surgical steel, each with a different design on its ends:

One tool has a fork-shaped tip (in a «V») and a pointed end, and the other has a pointed tip and a beveled end.

These tools are used together to fold the seam allowance inward over the interfacing.

HAND APPLIQUÉ with APLIQUICK®™ tools

Step by step:

Draw and cut the appliqué shape on the interfacing.

Fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric.

Cut the fabric leaving at least a 3 mm seam allowance around the shape.

Apply glue along the seam allowance.

Hold the piece in place using one tool (the V-shaped tip).

With the other tool, push and shape the seam allowance inward over the interfacing.

Work slowly and carefully, especially on curves and points, where you can use the round or beveled tip.

Once the edges are fully folded, let it dry and hand stitch the piece using an invisible stitch.
